In May 2003, we visited the American soutwest. The Santa Fe Series was produced when working with Virginia Cobb in her studio outside of Santa Fe. I had to use those wonderful colours of turquoise and red sandstone characteristic of the geography.

This piece introduces transparent overlapping shapes recalling silkcreen monoprints I experimented with in the 1960's. Then I used paper masks to produce torn edge effects. Here I adopt a more rigid geometric form with a more regular edge.
