Title: Resting Place
Media:
Acrylic, interference film on canvas
Dimensions: 36"x48"
Finish Date: May, 2006

I began this work as a colour variant of the Moment series. It evolved rather slowly, partly as I found myself increasingly suffering from chromatic overload.

In the meantime, I began a new direction of study with reduced-chroma colour. Wanting to finish off loose ends, I returned to this piece and resolved it. The colour transitions worked surprisingly well being in a range that has long attracted me.

This work marks a resting place in my use of high-chroma imagery. I'll always draw on high-chroma colour and continue to explore it as circumstances dictate. But for now, this marks a pause in one direction and the start of a new one.
